This urban spa located on the ground floor of a 16-story condominium building in Chicago’s West Loop is designed with both men and women in mind. There’s no salon —just an imaginative range of skin care and body treatments, with an emphasis on both the therapeutic, pain-management side of massage therapy (for male clients) and the pampering, sensuous side — for everyone else. While a number of relaxing facials are available, skin care treatments also take a corrective, more clinical approach, and skin care products are designed for both men and women. Men even have their own separate locker room with relaxation lounge and requisite television.
Though the setting is contemporary, the spa becomes more soothing and relaxing the deeper you get. The second level, for example, is filled with winding hallways and candles. Colors are gender-neutral, with browns, apple greens and soft blues and grays bathing the walls.
