Services: Both locations offer a variety of massage, including Shiatsu and hot rock, and body treatments including wraps and exfoliations. Quait Bay adds other treatments to the menu, including facials and paraffins.
Facilities: At Quait Bay’s floating lodge, the spa hides wet and dry treatment rooms among cedar hot tubs and yoga terraces. There’s also a fully equipped fitness room. At the Outpost are well-appointed treatment tents.
Meal plans: Inclusive. While the affable and talented executive chef, Timothy May, may encourage guests to ring him personally and discuss preferences and tastes before arriving, those who simply show up will not be disappointed. At the Outpost, guests might enjoy Clayoquot Sound oysters, Nanoose Farms organic wilted greens and Ucluelet goat cheese. A meal at the lodge may include free-run Cobble Hill breast of Muscovy Duck, oven-roasted and served with sweet potato shallot custard, and honey-braised Belgian endive with pan jus.
Accommodations: At the Outpost, guest quarters are 14’ x 16’ white canvas prospector-style tents, high walled and set on raised cedar platforms. Inside, handmade Adirondack furniture, king beds with down duvets, opulent rugs, propane- fired wood stoves and well-appointed bathroom, wash and shower facilities with hot running water. Outside, large porches with wood burning fire pits overlooking the river and sound. At the floating lodge, 1 6 rooms of similar—but walled—luxury offer brilliant views of the Sound. |
