An award-winning, 40-acre oceanfront resort, with fine dining, lush landscaping, waterfalls and coves, the Hyatt Regency Maui opened Maui’s first oceanfront spa in the Summer of 2000. This 9,000 square-foot glassed-in facilityfaces Ka’anapali Beach, giving you one of the more gorgeous views possible in which to work up a sweat.
Ten massage rooms, including four oceanfront massage cabanas, offer a variety of massages, from couples to reflexology, aromatherapy facial massage, Lomi Lomi, sports and Swedish. Fitness classes will include T’ai Chi, aerobics, yoga, water aerobics and Golf Flex, designed to improve the range of motion for golfers.
In addition to the massage rooms, the spa has wet treatment rooms for mud packs, loofah scrubs and vichy showers, as well as sauna and steam rooms and a beauty salon.
Once you leave the comfort of the new spa, however, there’s still plenty to do, all in a sumptuous setting. A half-acre pool, divided into two sections bywaterfalls, offers aqua volleyball, water exercise classes and a 150-foot lava tube waterslide. Snorkeling equipment, lessons and reef tours are options for guests. The beach activity center also rents boogie boards, surfboards, paddle boats and kayaks, as well as offering lessons.
The resort maintains its own 55-foot catamaran, the Kiele V, which offers a four-hour morning snorkel adventure, winter whalewatching with an on-board naturalist, and afternoon cruises along the West Maui coastline.
Complimentary wildlife tours take guests around the property, where they’ll see the resort’s huge variety of species from around the world, including swans, African Black-footed penguins, parrots, cranes, koi, ducks and flamingos. The two-mile art and garden walk goes past nine waterfalls, rock formations and lush tropical landscaping; it also shows off the resort’s $2 million Asian and Pacific art collection.
