Ten minutes outside of downtown Houston, eighteen lush acres surround one of the more extensive fitness clubs to be found at any hotel in the country. To be sure, the cost of one week exceeds that paid at some of the more posh destination spas: $3,500 per person, not including meals. But what it does include is rather impressive. The addition of the Trellis Spa should add to that.
Fitness facilities are the main draw here at the Houstonian. Strength and cardiovascular equipment span a space that seems limitless; in all, more than 200 pieces of machinery fill the area within the indoor running track. A number of court sports are available, including basketball, tennis, and racquetball, as well as an indoor rock climbing wall. Including studios for the group classes in yoga, aerobics, boxing, martial arts and more, the fitness facilities here at the Houstonian run 125,000 square feet, about twice what you’ll see should you visit the renowned industry statement in Tucson, Canyon Ranch.
