Deerfield takes a great deal of pride in offering all the service and attention found at other spas, while charging a fraction of their price. For about $ 1 ,000 per week, guests of this wooded country estate near the Pocono Mountains can take advantage of various fitness classes, spa services, and healthy, nutritious foods.
Fitness programs are developed on an individualized basis, drawing on a wide variety of available options. Included are aerobics, strength and flexibility training, water sports, yoga, Chi Kung, and T’ai Chi. Hiking has long been a prominent part of the program, with hikes going out six days per week. In the kitchen, beneficial eating habits are modeled with an extensive selection of low calorie, high satisfaction meals.
As Deerfield’s reputation for value grows, so too does the value itself. In 1999, Deerfield saw an expansion of both its facilities and services. Pilates was added to the lineup of classes, as were a variety of other activities. The gym was expanded, and the equipment upgraded. In 2000 and 2001, the improvements continued with the addition of a Sport CourtTM for new outdoor classes and activities, and a gazebo / hot tub combination in the yard for evening relaxation. Consistently strong throughout, the level of pride and dedication has remained unchanged.
